Southside Trio

SOUTHSIDE TRIO from Hampshire are 3 friends/musicians who met as music lecturers at Southdowns College. Two acoustic guitars, a keyboard and 3-part harmonies come together to create a relaxed, timeless and contemporary acoustic set covering artists such as Eva Cassidy and Kate Bush.

Barry has been a musician for more than 50 years playing many varying styles. His most successful time was in the early 80's when signed to A&M records and a subsidiary of Warner Brothers called Rialto Records. The band The Planets had some success with 2 L.P. releases and several singles, one reaching number 30 in the pop charts. He was involved in many UK tours, extensive recording sessions and appeared briefly on French television.

Prior to studying her degree in Music at Chichester University, Stephanie performed as a singer in an originals rock/pop band in Plymouth, a 12 piece originals jazz funk band in Portsmouth and as a professional singer in a three piece covers band based in Nottinghamshire, which toured extensively throughout both the UK and Germany.

Helen has made a recent return to her music as a pianist vocalist after studying Music and teaching at Chichester University and embarking on a busy teaching career.
She has followed in the footsteps of her Mother and Grandparents in learning piano from a very young age yet despite the classical background, Helen developed a flair early on for harmony and creating her own piano vocal arrangements of popular songs, with influences such as Tori Amos, Elton John and Kate Bush.

Every time Freddie plays it's always magic.
A tenor saxophonist with a beautiful tone and lyrical approach, he always surrounds himself with exceptional musicians to support him. And Livvy usually gets called up to sing a number of two.
